With the presence of the Mayor of Hackney Philip Glanville, Madam Speaker Soraya Adejare, Chief Inspector Ben Clark and many other community members, councillors and distinguished guests.

During the Islamic month of Ramadan Muslims fast between dawn and dusk, breaking the fast just after sunset in a joyful meal called iftar, with family and friends. In a spirit of friendship and respect, we shared this happy meal with the wider community and gave to each other a sense of the spirit of Ramadan.

This Ramadan, we pray for unity, understanding and tolerance between people. We pray for love and compassion.
